Difficult riddles with answers
Friends, I am thinking of four numbers such that
The sum of all the four numbers is 31.
Only one of number is odd.
The highest number minus the lowest number is 7.
If you subtract the middle two numbers, it equals two.
There are no duplicate numbers.
What four numbers i am thinking of ?
A 3 digit number is such that it’s unit digit is equal to the product of the other two digits which are prime.
Also, the difference between it’s reverse and itself is 396.
What is the sum of the three digits ?
It is given that the first two digits of the required number are prime numbers i.e. 2, 3, 5 or 7. Note that 1 is neither prime nor composite. Also, the third digit is the multiplication of the first two digits. Thus, first two digits must be either 2 or 3 i.e.
22, 23, 32 or 33 which means that there are four possible numbers – 224, 236,326 and 339.
Now, it is also given that – the difference between it’s reverse and itself is 396.
Only 236 satisfies this condition. Hence, the sum of the three digits is 11.
A man drive his car to the office at 20miles/hr.
After reaching office, he realize that its a new year holiday so he went back home at a speed of 30miles/hr.
Discounting the time spent in the stoppage what was his average speed of his journey ?
D : distance traveled
T1 : time of going to office
T2 : time of returning back
Y : Average Speed
D = 20 * T1
T1 = D/20
D = 30 * T2
T2 = D/30
2D = Y(T2 + T1)
2D = Y(D/20 + D/30)
2D = Y(3D/60 + 2D/60)
2D = Y(5D/60)
Y = 120D/5D
=> Y = 24

If,
29 – 1 = 30
9 – 1 = 10
14 – 1 = 15
Based on above logic, can you prove that
11 – 1 = 10 ?
Explanation:
Remove I (Roman equivalent of number 1) from the left side, you will the get the number on the right.
29 – 1 = 30
XXIX – I = XXX (Roman equivalent of number 30)
14 – 1 = 15
XIV – I = XV (Roman equivalent of number 15)
9 – 1 =10
IX – I = X (Roman equivalent of number 10)
Similarly,
11 – 1 = 10
XI – I = X (Roman equivalent of number 10)
Let us say there are two natural numbers ‘A’ and ‘B’. We performed eight operations on two numbers as
Step-1: A = B
Step-2: A x A = B x A
Step-3: A^2 – B^2 = AB – B^2
Step-4: (A + B)( A – B) = B(A – B)
Step-5: A + B = B
Step-6: B + B = B
Step-7: 2B = B
Step- 8: 2 = 1
What’s the trick?
Explanation:
We divided the two sides by (A-B).Since A = B which indicates that (A – B) = 0 and we cannot divide by zero.
